For machines that are decades old, the original dimensional drawings are often long gone, lost, never supplied, or locked away with an OEM that no longer responds. Without a print, most shops can’t quote the job. That’s exactly when manufacturers come to us.
Reverse engineering is the process of measuring an existing physical part and rebuilding its geometry, dimensions, and tolerances into a manufacturable specification. Once we’ve captured it accurately, we can reproduce that part consistently, every time you need it.
It takes engineering effort up front, so reverse engineering makes the most sense when there’s enough quantity (now or over time) to justify the work. If you only need a one-off and have no drawing, talk to us anyway, we’ll tell you honestly whether it pencils out.
No drawing for your packaging machine part? Cutting Experts reverse engineers worn or broken components into accurate, repeatable specs and machines exact replacements, given sufficient quantity.
Produce on the right equipment and verify against the captured spec before shipping.
A Worn Part Isn’t a Perfect Reference
The sample you send us is already worn. Copying it exactly would reproduce the wear. Our engineers work to recover the part’s original intended geometry, so the replacement performs like the part did when it was new, not like the one that just failed.
